Structural Landscaping on the Central Coast

Retaining walls, steps and level ground for sloping blocks, built by a licensed structural landscaper.

Built properly, from the footings up

Ken March holds a NSW contractor licence in structural landscaping. That's the work that holds a yard together: retaining walls, footings, drainage, steps and the levels everything else sits on.

On a recent Glenning Valley build, the walls sit on engineered concrete footings and piers, with stormwater pipes for drainage. Then the sandstone, steel edging and plants went in.

Clients with sloping blocks mention sandstone retaining walls that stabilised the block, along with drainage pits, garden beds and hand-crafted sandstone steps.

What clients say about Ken and the team

Sloping block, front and back yard

We honestly cannot recommend Coastline Hardscapes highly enough.

When we moved into our new build, we were left with a completely blank canvas, a challenging side-sloping block with no idea where to start. We knew we wanted to create something special, but we didn’t have the vision or knowledge to know how to make the space work. Ken came in, understood exactly what we were trying to achieve, and brought that vision to life. He has transformed our front and backyard into spaces that are not only beautiful but genuinely functional and enjoyable to use.

Rocky, sloping backyard

Ken and his team transformed my rocky, sloping backyard into a beautiful space. From the outset he was always the professional from the planning stage to the final product. I highly recommend Coastline Hardscapes.

Caravan pad, front yard

We needed a new home for the caravan and sought ideas and quotes from many suppliers here on the Central Coast. You really do get what you pay for, hence a huge thanks to Ken and his team at Coastline Hardscapes, you’ve transformed the front yard. You are true craftsmen and the quality and vision of the job was awesome. All the neighbours were impressed too. The van looks right at home now, nice and level and not sinking into the grass that was there before. @coastlinehardscapes

Stone fireplace wall

I recently had my very bland fireplace refreshed by Coastline Hardscapes & I couldn’t be happier. Brie helped me thru the planning process with stone suggestions, tolerated my flip flopping between grout vs no grout and kept in touch re timeframes. Ken is a pleasure he deal with while the job is getting done & Ryder is a whizz with an eye to detail. The overall job took a week while they pulled off the old wall, reset it, and stacked the stone perfectly! It’s topped off with a hardwood shelf that looks fab - I just need to workout what to oil/varnish it with.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ken for any work you have in mind.

What a structural job can include

  • Retaining walls. Sandstone walls to hold a sloping block in place.
  • Footings and drainage. Concrete footings, piers and stormwater drainage, done before anything goes on top.
  • Steps and levels. Sandstone steps and level areas, so more of the yard can be used.

Can you work on a steep or side-sloping block?

Yes. Recent work includes a side-sloping new build, where sandstone retaining walls stabilised the block. Call Ken to talk about yours.

How much does a retaining wall cost?
